Personal Data we Collect about you.
We only collect personal data you supply when you register as a client with us either over the telephone or face-to-face when at one of our surgeries.
This is only ever:
Identity – Your name
Contact – Your address, telephone numbers and when supplied e-mail address.
Will we never:
ask you for any sensitive personal data.
knowingly collect any personal data relating to children.
we never collect any personal data or information from our website.
If any of your details change, please contact as it is important, we keep accurate and current contact details.
If you have any complaints in how we collect or use your personal data, please contact us first but you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office www.ico.org.uk.
How we use your Personal Data.
We only use your personal data where legally permitted in relation to treating your pet(s).
Your personal data is never sold.
It is only shared with third parties with either your expressed and informed consent, for text reminder services or under legitimate interest in relation to the treatment, health and welfare of your pet(s). These third parties include, but are not limited to, diagnostic laboratories, specialist referral centres, microchip companies, pet insurance companies, pet cremation companies, pet care professionals.
We are informing you that whilst not secure if your pet is referred to a specialist referral practice then your personal data will be sent unencrypted via the internet either by email or their on-line form. These third parties all operate within the European Economic Area.
Our IT provider does have access to our digital database.
You have the right to withdraw consent at any time by emailing email@example.com. or using the opt-out option on the text reminder service.
Storing your Personal Data.
It is stored digitally on our computer system. Any paper records or consent forms will be kept for 7 years before being shredded and incinerated.
Your personal data will be kept for 7 years after you cease to be a client for accounting purposes. After this time, it will either be deleted or anonymised.
Your data security is important to us, so security measures are in place to prevent your data from being accidentally lost, subjected to unauthorised use, disclosure or alteration. Your data is only shared with selected third parties or agents that need this data for matters relating to the treatment of your pet(s). They only process your data on our instruction and have a duty of confidentiality.
We will contact you and the regulator if any data breach occurs.

Any card payments made are processed by a third-party payment service provided by the Bank of Scotland.
For payments made over the telephone all details are entered directly into the terminal and are never written down or stored. The payment system is completely separate from our computer network.
